Alberto M. Duarte, President and Chief Executive Officer
Al Duarte serves as president and chief executive officer of the nonprofit InCharge Education Foundation, Inc. (ICEF), a respected source of reliable and relevant education, data and research on the behaviors and issues facing individuals and families relating to consumer credit, money management and financial well-being. Since joining the organization in 2002, Mr. Duarte has played a vital role in developing its educational programming and resources, including Military Money magazine, and ICEF’s curriculum for those seeking bankruptcy relief. He also serves as corporate secretary of InCharge Institute of America, Inc.
Mr. Duarte is a frequent presenter at industry- and government-sponsored conferences conducted by the U.S. Department of the Treasury, Federal Reserve Board, and the Hawaii Council on Economic Education.
During the past 20 years, Mr. Duarte has held administrative and instructional positions at several large institutions of higher learning, including the University of Central Florida, City Colleges of Chicago and the University of Maryland. He also has held a number of positions at Fortune 500 companies including Beatrice Foods, AT&T and Fleet Bank.
Mr. Duarte represents InCharge Education Foundation on various boards and forums including the American Savings Education Council and Jumpstart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy.
Mr. Duarte earned his Masters of Public Administration degree from Troy State University, and a B.S. in Business and Management, from the University of Maryland. He also holds a certification from The Ohio State University as a DACUM (Develop a Curriculum) Facilitator. Mr. Duarte has completed several graduate-level courses towards his doctorate in IT Management.
