InCharge® Education Foundation (ICEF) commissions quarterly studies, and their purpose is to explore the condition of a large national sample of the general U.S. adult population, relating to personal finance. This paper will focus on answers to one question related to types of expenses. Specifically, we asked "Which of the following types of expenses are you most worried about?" Their choices were: "Paying off debts such as loans or credit cards, Paying monthly living expenses (rent or mortgage, car, food, etc.), or Setting aside funds for the future (retirement, college for kids, emergencies, etc.)".
